How Ledger Find rates software
The four rating levels
| Rating | What it means |
|---|---|
| Best-in-class performance with few meaningful weaknesses | |
| Strong performance with only minor limitations | |
| Performs well and has more strengths than weaknesses | |
| Meets basic needs but has meaningful limitations |
We deliberately use rating levels instead of decimal scores. A number like 8.3 implies a precision that software comparisons cannot honestly support; a clear level tells you what we actually concluded.
Five weighted criteria
| Criterion | Weight | What we evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| Features & capabilities | 25% | Depth and quality of what the platform actually does |
| Ease of use | 20% | Setup effort, day-to-day workflow, and learning curve |
| Pricing & value | 20% | What you get for the money across real plan tiers |
| Integrations & scalability | 15% | Connections to other tools and room to grow |
| Customer experience | 20% | Our assessment blended with public review research |
Each criterion receives one of the four rating levels. The overall rating is the weighted combination of the five, using the weights above, which total 100%.
Where public reviews fit
The Customer experience rating combines our own assessment with research into public reviews. We record review averages across major software review platforms at the time of each check, and those recorded averages, together with their review counts and check dates, are logged in our rating tracker. We do not display raw review star averages on the site; they inform the Customer experience rating rather than replace our judgment.
Independence and partners
Some vendors are preferred partners and some links earn us a commission. Partnership can affect prominence, such as where a platform appears on a page, and it is labeled wherever it applies. It never changes the five criteria or the final rating. Declined or absent affiliate relationships do not lower a rating, and several platforms we rate pay us nothing.
How often ratings change
Ratings and pricing are reviewed on a rolling basis and each page shows its last-updated date. When a platform ships something significant, or public review patterns shift materially, the rating is rechecked ahead of schedule.
